A product with a gap
SmartWorkout was started by Christelle Hess and Lucas Griffon, whose busy careers left little time for the gym. They built their own unbreakable resistance bands for training anywhere, and customers kept asking for an app to go with them.
An app they could control
PDFs weren’t portable enough. Christelle wanted to own and update the app herself, the way they run their Shopify store. With Passion.io she launched an MVP fast, repurposing content from their YouTube channel, on iOS, Android and web.
What changed
Priced at just €5 for lifetime premium access, the app became a new revenue stream. A Zapier and Shopify integration lets them sell it as a digital product and bundle it with resistance-band orders.
Today over 25,500 users train across both apps, and 72% of new orders add the app at checkout.
